What we collect

When you send an enquiry we collect the name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, travel dates, party size, budget range and trip notes that you type into the form. We collect nothing else from that form.

If you go on to book, we also collect the passport details, dietary requirements, insurance details and emergency contact needed to issue permits and confirm lodges. Park authorities require passport details in order to issue a gorilla permit in your name.

Why we hold it

To answer your enquiry, build an itinerary, buy permits and park entry in your name, book lodges and transport, and reach you during the trip. We also keep booking records for as long as Rwandan tax and company law requires.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the suppliers directly involved in delivering your journey.

Who we pass it to

Only the parties who need it to deliver your trip. That means the Rwanda Development Board or the Uganda Wildlife Authority for permits, the lodges and camps on your itinerary, domestic airlines where your route includes a flight, and the ground teams handling your transfers.

Each of those receives the minimum needed, which for a lodge is usually a name and arrival date, and for a permit is the passport detail the authority demands.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no third party tracking scripts. If that changes, this page will be updated to name the tool and its purpose before it goes live.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted within 24 months. Booking records are kept for the period required by Rwandan law, after which they are deleted.

Your rights

Write to hello@legsonjourneys.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will respond within 30 days. Where we are required to keep a record for tax or legal reasons, we will tell you which record and why.

Security

Enquiry and booking information is held in access-controlled accounts. We ask that you do not send full card numbers by email or WhatsApp. Payment instructions are issued separately on your invoice.
