Kyambura Escarpment Camp

Perched on the rim of the Kyambura Gorge above Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kyambura Escarpment Camp looks out over the Kazinga Channel where elephant and buffalo herds move between Lake Edward and Lake George. Below the camp, a rare pocket of rainforest shelters one of Uganda’s few remaining chimpanzee populations outside Kibale Forest.

Nine thatched cottages are spaced along the escarpment edge, each with a private deck facing the channel — a natural amphitheatre for watching tree-climbing lions, hippos, and some of the highest bird counts recorded anywhere in Africa. The camp is a short drive from the Ishasha sector, Queen Elizabeth’s famous tree-climbing lion territory, and within reach of both Bwindi and Kibale for combined gorilla-and-chimpanzee itineraries.
