Nxaba Island Camp

Set on a private island deep in the permanent waterways of the Okavango Delta, Nxaba Island Camp is reachable only by light aircraft and motorboat — a deliberate act of remoteness that rewards guests with some of the most exclusive wildlife encounters in southern Africa.

Each of the camp’s five raised tented suites looks out over a lagoon that floods and recedes with the seasons, bringing elephants, red lechwe, and fish eagles to the doorstep. By day, expert guides lead game drives across the floodplains and mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions through papyrus-lined channels; by night, the camp’s fire pit becomes a gathering point for stories under an uninterrupted canopy of stars.

Nxaba’s design draws on traditional Delta building methods — thatch, canvas, and raw timber — reinterpreted with a quietly luxurious hand. It is a camp built for travellers who want the wild at arm’s length, not through a window.
